Apple has released Apple Sports, a new iPhone app that allows you to track sports scores .

The new free app shows sports scores from all major teams and leagues. Users in the US, Canada, and the UK can download it now.
Apple's head of services, Eddy Cue, said the company designed the app with speed and simplicity in mind, so users quickly glance at scores throughout the day.

“You want real-time scores. You want them to be easy to find. Nothing to get in the way. And that’s the primary purpose of the app,” Cue said last week about the new Apple Sports app.
Apple has been involved in sports in recent years by purchasing rights and broadcasting Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer, adding additional sports journalism to the app , and showing sports documentaries about various teams on Apple TV+.
Last year, the company also bid for the rights to National Football League, but lost out to YouTube. However, it wants to participate in upcoming negotiations for the rights to the National Basketball Association.
Now, however, the company is expanding even further into the sports industry with the new app . The app won't come pre-installed on iPhones, but it will be tightly integrated with Apple's other Services apps, such as the TV app and the News app.
This way, the app will instantly learn about the user's preferences regarding teams, sports, and leagues, so when the Sports app is first opened, users will be able to see scores from their favorite teams.

Notifications and live activities also connect to the Apple News and Apple TV apps, and will be able to display notifications for game or for a game the user is interested in.

Most game pages will include information about specific sports, such as who scored, which players are on the field, etc. The pages will also include live betting odds, but users can disable these in the settings.
There will also be an Apple TVthat users can tap to watch a live game. This works for sports broadcast by Apple, as well as games on streaming services that are connected to the Apple TV.
Within Apple Sports, you can watch teams from the following leagues right now:
- MLS
- NBA
- NCAA basketball (men's and women's)
- NHL
- Bundesliga
- LaLiga
- Liga MX
- Ligue 1
- Premier League
- Serie A
Additionally, support for MLB, NFL, NCAAF, NWSL, and WNBA will arrive in time for their upcoming seasons.

The new Apple Sports app for tracking sports scores will allow the company to become more integrated into the sports community. By providing this service, Apple is expanding its presence in the sector, increasing the breadth of its products and services .
Additionally, this app could increase user engagement. Users who are interested in sports will have one more reason to use devices and services, increasing the likelihood that they will remain loyal to the company.
Finally, this app could be a platform for Apple to promote other products and services. By integrating ads or links into the app, Apple could promote its other products to a more targeted audience.
