The national corps, which participated in the student and professional categories, managed to finish in the top five in both categories and qualified for the final. In its statement, the national team Service Cybersecurity, National Security Council (NACSA, NSC) reports that the "Cincai" team won third place in the student category and won a cash prize of US$5,000.

Team Leader Choo Chi Siang expressed the team's enthusiasm for successfully completing unique challenges, especially in the "Cyber Warzone: Capture The Flag Competition", which was considered particularly challenging compared to previous challenges.

The team secured the first place in the CYDES2023 event in July in Kuala Lumpur, organized by the NACSA, NSC.

Dr. Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin, Executive Director consultant of NACSA, highlighted his recent initiative, which helps to promote the skills and talents of the younger generation in the field of cybersecurity.

"A career in this sector not only offers many opportunities, but also ensures high incomes. We hope to see more talented young people join and take advantage of the opportunities provided," he said.

It is highlighted that by 2025, the country will require more than 25,000 cybersecurity professionals, compared to the approximately 13,000 currently employed domestically. Thus, Malaysia's participation in the ACS provided a valuable opportunity for participants to gain skills, knowledge and strengthen relationships with regional countries to address threats in the cyberspace.

The ACS was organised by the Security Service Internet Korea and the Indonesian National Security and Cybersecurity Agency under the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund initiative.
