Aside from a brief crossover with the mobile game Godzilla Battle Line a few years ago, Kong hasn't had a recent video game appearance. That's changing this fall with the announcement of IguanaBee and publisher GameMill Entertainment's action-adventure game Skull Island: Rise of Kong. The game is currently in development for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

In this third-person action-adventure game, you take on the role of Kong himself on a journey of revenge as you fight to claim your rightful place as King of Skull Island. After the death of his parents at the hands of the saurian terror Gaw, Kong must traverse the mysterious island and uncover its secrets in a variety of dangerous environments, discovering the power that runs through its exotic flora and fauna. You must defeat waves of primal beasts, defeat bosses, and overcome all who stand in your way to become King.
As Kong, you'll unleash devastating combos to dominate Gaw's ferocious minions, as well as unleash your rage to increase the impact of your attacks. Send even the most gigantic enemies fleeing with your thunderous roar and brutal finishing moves. Throughout the game, you'll also gain new abilities through special events and intense boss battles to unlock your full potential.

Along the way, you'll explore mountainous terrain, jungles, swamps, skull-filled caves, and more to discover collectibles, unlock new areas, and learn more about the mysterious history of this distant land.
Skull Island: Rise of Kong will be available in two editions: the regular edition for $39.99 and a digital deluxe “Colossal Edition” for $49.99. The latter includes eight exclusive cinematic skins with the ability to experience a red-tinted rage mode and the authentic look of the classic King Kong films from 1933 and the 1970s, a “Kong style pack” with eight different colors so you can choose your own Kong, a boss-rush mode that allows you to defeat all of Skull Island’s titans, and a behind-the-scenes exclusive pack that includes glimpses at the game’s artwork and the original orchestral soundtrack.
