The company announced the new game titled One Punch Man: World as a multiplayer action game for PC and mobile devices developed by the developers of Tower of Fantasy and Persona 5: The Phantom X, Perfect World, with a trailer that showcases some of the key features of the game and its story, including a cast of popular characters from the anime series. “One Punch Man: World is an immersive online action game that transports players into the One Punch Man universe,” said Terry Li, General Manager of Crunchyroll Games in a press release. “The game… brings iconic characters and abilities to life with groundbreaking production values that we are excited to unleash on anime fans and gamers.”

According to Crunchyroll Games, the plot of One Punch Man: World will adapt the first season of the anime, with Saitama and the Hero Association fighting against a wave of monsters threatening the world, with some expanded scenes from the perspective of other characters. Aside from the story, the game will feature a range of playable characters from the anime, such as Genos, and will allow players to cooperate in group missions and action-based battles, as well as an open central world where they can interact with each other.

Suggestion: You can still play Shadowrun Xbox 360 on Xbox Live

In terms of gameplay, Perfect World takes a different approach from the arena fighting game One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows developed by Spike Chunsoft and published by Dark Souls publisher Bandai Namco, which focused on one-on-one battles between players controlling characters from the anime. One Punch Man: World will feature team-based cooperative battles where players will utilize real-time evasion mechanics, ultimate abilities, and skill combos along with various minigames within the main world.

The third season of the anime One Punch Man will be released in 2024 due to the complications of COVID-19. The manga continues with over 180 chapters and recently ended a pause due to health problems of the illustrator.

Pre-registration for the game is open on its official website for Windows PC players, with cross-progression across PC, iOS, and Android.
