Microsoft is currently experimenting with a change to the Print Screen key's functionality in Windows 11 - instead of copying an image to the clipboard, it will open the Windows Snipping Tool.

Since the release of Windows 95, pressing a single button on your keyboard – “print screen” – takes a snapshot of whatever appears on your screen and automatically copies it to the clipboard.
With this screenshot, you can quickly share or edit the image by pasting it into documents, using photo editing software, or sending it through messenger conversations.

Windows Latest reported that Microsoft is experimenting with a potential change in the newest Beta preview builds (22621.1546 and 22624.1546) that could be annoying for those who have relied on the Print Screen button for nearly three decades! The update, KB5025310, could prove to be quite annoying for users who have become accustomed to this long-standing Windows 11 feature.
Instead of the traditional Print Screen button copying a screenshot directly to the Windows clipboard, pressing it will now open the Windows Snipping Tool. This tool gives you access to a built-in screenshot creator that allows for more precise and creative images!
Fortunately, for people who don't like this change, you can disable it in Windows 11 Settings by going to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard and disabling the 'Use the Print Screen key to open Snipping Tool' setting, shown below.
You can also manually disable this change by creating the PrintScreenKeyForSnippingEnabled DWORD value in HKCU\Control Panel\Keyboard and setting it to 0, as shown in the registry file below.
Microsoft has warned that features found in Windows 11 previews are not guaranteed to be included in the final version of its product.

Despite the fact that this is a minor feature and can be disabled, it would be shocking if this wasn't included in an upcoming public release of Windows, given that it promotes another Microsoft.
