Today, Apple unveiled the redesigned Maps app to the public in Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia. This latest version of the popular mapping software includes improved street detail for more accurate navigation with 3D models of popular landmarks created specifically for users, as well as stunning Flyover views! With the exciting launch of Apple Maps 2.0, everyone can now experience a whole new world without ever leaving their home.

Maps can also help drivers in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland with certain electric vehicles plan trips that include convenient charging stops by analyzing elevation and other factors along a route. Meanwhile, transit riders in Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovenia can more easily find nearby stations and pin favorite lines. Riders will also receive notifications when it’s time to get off at their stop.

Look Around is now available in many countries, bringing high-resolution, street-level imagery to the Maps app. The feature works similarly to Google Street View, but offers smoother panning and zooming for an even more immersive experience.

As Apple Maps expert Juston O'Beirne notes, this is the eighteenth time Apple has expanded its new maps data since its public launch in September 2018. It has expanded to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, France, Germany, and select other countries and territories.
