Google recently discovered a serious security issue in Samsung’s Exynos modems. Hackers could potentially gain control of your phone if they knew its number – an undeniably threatening event that could happen. A Samsung community moderator has revealed that the Exynos modem vulnerabilities have been patched as part of the March 2023 security update. The confirmation came in response to a Samsung user who took to the company's community forum to report the Wi-Fi calling vulnerability.

"After identifying 6 vulnerabilities that may affect select Galaxy devices, none of which were rated 'critical,' Samsung released security patches for 5 of them in March," the moderator wrote. "Another security patch will be released in April to address the remaining vulnerability.".
It's quite remarkable that Samsung's community manager insisted that none of the vulnerabilities were serious, given that Google's Project Zero team recently discovered four serious zero-day vulnerabilities in Samsung's Exynos modems. Cybercriminals have the ability to exploit these flaws and could take control of devices remotely and without anyone noticing!
The affected Exynos modems were found in many of Samsung's top phones, including the Galaxy S22 series, the Galaxy A53, and older models . Google 's recent flagship phones , including the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series, were also affected, although the latter received a fix with the March update.
Recent Vivo models in the flagship and mid-range categories were also compromised, as were mobile devices powered by the Exynos W920 and vehicles using the Exynos Auto T5123.
