Google: The September 13 Android update for the Pixel 6a is rolling out today with improvements to the under-display fingerprint sensor (UDFPS).

Google gave most Pixel owners an update last week in the form of the September Android security patch. At the time, they said the update was immediately available to all Pixel phones that were still supported except for the Pixel 6a, which was scheduled to arrive later this month. That meant new updates were rolling out for the Pixel 4, Pixel 4a, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, and Pixel 6 series.

Google also released a Verizon version for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro:

Last week's Android 13 QPR1 Beta 1 build for the Pixel 6a remains on the August security patch, but contains "various issues for Pixel 6a devices that made it difficult for users to unlock their device or set up Fingerprint Unlock."
For the Pixel 6a, this September update brings “additional improvements to fingerprint recognition and response in certain conditions.” Other improvements include:
Battery charging
- Fixes an issue that occasionally causes increased battery drain from certain launcher background activities
Bluetooth
- Fixes an issue that occasionally prevents certain Bluetooth devices or accessories from connecting
User Interface
- Fixes an issue that occasionally causes truncated notifications to appear on the lock screen

To check for the update, go to Settings>System>System update. If you don't see it right away, give it a few more chances over the next couple of days. If you want to update immediately, use the links above.
