This Friday, January 27th, GoldenEye 007 arrives on Nintendo Switch Online and Xbox Game Pass! Subscribers can now enjoy this classic game. James Bond fans were thrilled when the first-person shooter game debuted on the N64 in 1997.

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives gamers access to over 100 games. Subscribers have access to both current and legacy titles from all major franchises, including Gears of War, Halo , and Forza Motorsport. And with new titles added regularly, there's always something new to explore and play.

Nintendo Switch owners will have access to an exclusive mode , as stated on the official 007 website. Aside from that feature, however, it looks like the game will follow the same formula as the N64. It remains to be seen whether the familiar dual-controller gameplay of the N64 classic can be replicated on the Switch – after all, it only had one joystick, but you could use two controllers in the 90s.

To access GoldenEye 007 and other N64 games, you need to be a subscriber to the Expansion Pack , which costs $50 per year.

On Wednesday, Craig Duncan , head of Microsoft -owned developer Rare , revealed that the Game Pass version (available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S) will include a number of features, including alternate control options, achievements to earn, and 16:9 to 4K Ultra HD resolution. The Switch version offers more modern conveniences than the current version, but it lacks one crucial element: online multiplayer . However, it does offer local split-screen for those who prefer a shared experience.

With a subscription for just $10 per month, you'll get the GoldenEye experience without paying any extra money. Plus, if you own Rare Replay, a collection of 30 classic games released in 2015, then your access to GoldenEye is completely free!

Last September, a Nintendo Direct livestream showcased the long-awaited return of GoldenEye.

A sequel to the 1995 film that introduced the world to Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007, this game was rewarded with rave reviews, both for its enjoyable single-player experience and its exciting split-screen multiplayer. The third most popular game on the N64, it sold 8.09 million units worldwide – surpassed only by Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 with 11.91 million and 9.87 million copies respectively!

This year marks an incredible milestone for Bond: it’s 70 years since his debut in Ian Fleming’s novel Casino Royale! Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Bond film series is stronger than ever with No Time to Die, now available on Amazon Prime Video. However, fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the next superspy to take on the role of Daniel Craig. IO Interactive, the creator of Hitman, is also developing an original James Bond game.
