According to a recent study, the number of iPhones manufactured in India could reach 50% by 2027 – an impressive figure considering that previous estimates predicted production of only 25% by 2025.

According to the Chinese publication, suppliers in China are already feeling the effects of Apple's decision to move production from their country to Vietnam. The company aims to reduce its dependence on China, which has proven beneficial for both countries.
We have been warning for years about the need and difficulty of reducing Apple’s dependence on China. The pandemic has exposed the dangers of concentrating most of their production in one place. When COVID-19 disrupted its largest assembly plant , it was estimated that Apple was losing a billion dollars a week! It is imperative that they diversify where their products are manufactured if they want a secure future.

Apple has successfully established India as its second largest iPhone manufacturing hub. Last year, the tech giant set out to achieve a vital goal, starting assembly of the iPhone 14 in both China and India. Although it failed to achieve this, its efforts were rewarded with the start of Indian production during September. This success is expected to carry over to the 2023 iPhone 15 series, where Apple plans to have simultaneous production within these two countries once again!
Last year, a report said that by 2025, a quarter of iPhones will be produced in India. But today's news reveals that the transition won't stop there – suggesting that there's even more growth to come!
Bloomberg data reveals that only 2.27% of Apple's service locations are in India right now, placing it below the United States, China, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, France and South Korea. However, there is a noticeable transition happening as we speak!
According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP), analysts expect an optimistic outlook.

Last week, Luke Lin of the research unit of Taiwan-based newspaper DigiTimes predicted that India could manufacture up to half of the world's iPhones by 2027 - a stunning jump from their current production rate of less than 5%.
JPMorgan predicts that India will assemble 25% of the world's iPhones by 2025, an aggressive prediction compared to its previous estimate.
