If you're stuck in traffic and late for your virtual meeting, don't worry: if you have a Tesla, you can join the Zoom call directly from your car.

Zoom announced Tuesday that it will increase prices for its premium services later this year, as part of the Zoomtopia 2022 event (via Drive Tesla Canada).
This long-awaited feature first came to light when a driver asked if the car's interior camera could be used for a Zoom meeting in April 2020. After numerous requests from Tesla drivers, CEO Elon Musk finally confirmed a month later that video conferencing would be coming to all of the company's cars in the future.

Zoom Group Product Manager Nitasha Walia recently confirmed that all new Tesla models will have the feature. In a demo, it was shown in use on a Tesla Model Y. The car’s cabin camera is apparently located above the mirror and records what’s going on inside the vehicle while it’s charging. If you look closely, you’ll see that the Zoom call is accessed from the car’s built-in calendar feature.
There are still a lot of unknowns about Zoom calls in Teslas. First of all, safety is paramount for Zoom, so it's unlikely that the feature will be usable while driving. We're also not sure if you'll need Premium Connectivity for faster internet speeds, or if just Wi-Fi.
On Tuesday, in addition to unveiling new features for cars, Zoom also announced beta versions of Zoom Mail and Calendar. With these apps, users will be able to more easily manage their tasks and meetings in one place — similar to Google Workspace. Notable features include end-to-end encryption when sending emails between two Zoom Mail users, as well as a meeting booking feature that makes it easier to choose an available time for a potential meeting.

The company also announced Zoom Spots, a “virtual collaboration space” for “free-form, video-first conversations.” It’s coming in early 2023, the company said.
