You see an Instagram Reel that just made your day and you want to share it with your followers. Well, the only way to do that is to download it and post it to your profile. However, according to TechCrunch, Instagram is working on a repost feature for Instagram Reels.

On platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook , and Reddit , users have the ability to repost other people's content. Unfortunately, Instagram is one that hasn't followed suit. But there are times when you see a post that you want to share with others.
When you repost Instagram Reels, they will have their own tab on your profile
Instagram is currently in the early stages of testing this feature, so don’t expect it to roll out anytime soon. This upcoming feature was first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. He spotted a tab on Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri’s profile. It’s a spinning arrow icon — think of the retweet icon.
So, this tab will house all of a person's reposted Reels. Along with a screenshot of Mosseri's profile, there's also a leaked screenshot of the feature's splash screen. It says the feature is currently in testing and will be visible to a select few people .
The splash screen explains how the feature works, but there's not much to explain. When you repost a post, it will appear on profile and people will be able to follow and reply.

The beauty of this feature is that when you repost, it automatically credits the original Reel creator. There are far too many accounts on the platform that repost other creators' work without giving proper credit.
We don't know how widespread the test is. If you're in the Instagram beta program, you may see this new feature. To be safe, make sure you always have the latest app.
