Gargoyles, which came out in 1995, will be getting a remastered version according to a snippet from Disney's press release.
Disney , however, and which would have been better in much more detail, was the great news that classic platformer Gargoyles is getting a remaster.
Released in 1995 for the Genesis, Gargoyles was based on the animated series of the same name, and like many other Disney of the time—notably Aladdin and The Lion King, although developed by different studios—it was famous not only for its platforming action, but for how beautiful it was.

Everything about Gargoyles is "Sega Genesis", mid-90s perfection. The way the backgrounds wrap around the player, the flickering of the lens, the scrolling of the train level, everything is so beautiful. And the animation! It's just amazing.
That game was great, but Gargoyles was never that popular and so this licensed adaptation wasn't either, and despite its similar pedigree, it was never remembered as fondly as, say, Aladdin.
Perhaps that's about to change, however, because hidden in Disney 's brief press release from last week is the following:
Gargoyles Remastered: The classic 90s platformer comes to modern consoles and PC with updated visuals and controls in collaboration with Empty Clip Studios.

This is really cool! We should always be wary of attempts to take classic games like Gargoylesand give them "updated graphics"—especially the upgrade filters—so hopefully there will be an option to play it as it was first developed and designed. But come to think of it, the controls and movement of the original game also feel clunky, so the attempts to add "updated controls" won't be so controversial.
