If you want to make an individual photo, follow the instructions below.
Desktop
- Open a browser and go to the Facebook site.
- Log in to your account.
- In the upper right corner, click on your profile name to enter your profile.
- Once you are on your profile page, click on “Photos” (located in the bar below your name and profile photo).
- Then, click on “Your Photos”.
- Select the photo you want to make private. When the photo opens in full screen, in the top right corner, click the three dots.
- In the menu that opens, select “Edit Post Audience”.
- In the “ Select Audience ” window , you will choose who can see your photo. If you want to hide your photo from everyone, select “ Only Me ”.
Facebook will immediately make your photo private!
Mobile
To make your photos private from your mobile phone:
- Open the Facebook app on your device.
- Tap the three horizontal lines (bottom right on iPhone or iPad and top right on Android).
- On the “ Menu ” page , tap your profile .
- Once you are on your profile page, scroll down and tap “Photos.”
- On the photos page, at the top, click “Uploads”.
- Select the photo you want to hide. Then, in the top right corner of the photo, tap the three dots.
- From the menu that opens, select “Edit Post Privacy“.
- On the “Edit Privacy” screen, tap “See More” to see all the available options. Choose the audience that can see your photo. To hide your photo from everyone, select “Only Me.”

How to make a photo album private?
Desktop
- Open a browser and then open the Facebook site. Log in to your account.
- In the top right corner of Facebook, click your profile name.
- In the list of tabs at the top, click “Photos.”
- Select “Albums”.
- Find the photo album you want to make private. Then, in the top right corner of that album, click the three dots.
- From the three-dot menu, select “Edit Album.”
- In the left sidebar, under “Edit Album,” click on the current audience.
- In the “ Select Audience ” window , choose who can see your photo album. To make the album invisible to everyone, select “ Only Me .”
- Return to the “Edit Album” page and at the bottom of the left sidebar, click “Save.”

Mobile

Your selected photo album is now hidden from everyone but you.
