The Google Pixel 6 is expected to be released later in the year and according to the latest rumors, it will have impressive specifications and additional software support.

FrontPageTech leaker Jon Prosser has given a detailed breakdown of the possible specifications for the upcoming smartphones. The Pixel 6 will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display, a 50MP main sensor with a 12MP infrared camera, 128/256GB storage, 8GB RAM, and a 4614mAh battery.
The “Pro” variant will have a display bump up to 6,71 inches, although earlier rumors suggested it would be a QHD+ resolution at 120Hz, while the smaller version will have an FHD+ resolution at 120Hz. The Pixel 6 “Pro” will also feature an additional 48MP telephoto lens, storage up to 256 GB and 12 GB RAM. The battery will be larger at 5.000 mAh.

Most interestingly, Prosser claims that the Pixel 6 will get five years of Android software updates, which is pretty impressive. So far, Samsung holds the crown for the longest software support, having announced a four-year support promise for many of devices . The company's phones already promise up to five years of software support.
Of course, this information should be taken with a grain of salt until it is officially announced by Google, but announcing five years of software support would be a truly significant achievement and could greatly boost sales of Google's Pixel devices.
It is also important to note that this does not necessarily refer to five years of Android version upgrades, but to five years of software support through security updates. The manufacturers of the best Android phones tend to distinguish between the two when they announce promises for updates.
