-Mobile data traffic via COSMOTE 4G/4G+
-For the first time, the regions of mainland Greece played a leading role in the increase in mobile data consumption
Despite its peculiarities, this summer brought a large increase of 50% in traffic data via the network COSMOTE mobile . In the period from July 1 to August 15, COSMOTE subscribers consumed over 40 Petabytes , of which 35 via COSMOTE 4G/4G+ , where traffic increased by 60% compared to the corresponding period last year. In fixed , total data traffic increased by 35%, in the same period, exceeding 400 Petabytes.
Roaming traffic this year was - as expected - significantly reduced, due to the health crisis, however, since the start of the tourist season in early July, it has been on a steady upward trend, peaking in mid-August.

This year, for the first time, regions of mainland Greece were the ones that led the summer increase in mobile data consumption, with the prefectures of Ilia (+100%), Achaia -except Patras- (+100%), Grevena/Kozani (+100%), Fthiotida (+95%), Boeotia (+95%) and Ioannina/Preveza/Arta (+90%) recording the largest annual increase. Among the island regions, Heraklion of Crete (+100%), as well as Evia (+90%) emerged as champions in data traffic
Instagram remained at the top of users' preferences for another summer, gathering 25% of data traffic, with Facebook following, absorbing 20% of traffic. More and more users are turning to video streaming , which consumed 20% of data traffic this year, while web browsing also remained high .
