YouTube is down for some of its users who cannot watch any videos.
A monkey dressed as a construction worker appeared on users' screens as well as an error message.
“Sorry, something went wrong, Try reloading the page. We're working hard to fix YouTube for you as soon as possible.” the error message states.
Although users reloaded, nothing changed on their home screen, with YouTube remaining down.
On the bright side, the bug doesn't seem to be affecting all users of the platform. Despite the huge number of reports about the bug, many are still using YouTube normally.
Many users find that problems only occur in specific parts of the site, such as channel pages.
The highest rate of errors is being found on the West Coast of the United States, as well as in some parts of Europe, according to tracking website Down Detector.
YouTube, which is owned Google , rarely experiences a glitch. But even a brief or intermittent outage can cause huge problems since it is used by millions of people.
According to statistics, more than a billion hours of video viewing on the platform are recorded on a daily basis. It is available in almost every country in the world, with 91 different local versions available.
