Firefox 61.0.2 automatic browsing recovery

Firefox is considered the first alternative after Chrome, although Microsoft is trying to establish Edge. Firefox is constantly being developed and each version released offers or improves some functionality of the application.
So with the latest release of Firefox in version 61.0.2, the Mozilla foundation has reportedly added a new feature that you may not have noticed, but may prove to be very useful.firefox
The new feature is called automatic restoring of browsing sessions and as its name suggests, it provides the ability to automatically restore browsing tabs even when Windows restarts to complete the installation of an update or when you shut down Windows yourself without closing the browser first.
While this feature is only supported by Firefox 61.0.2 on Windows, and will gradually be released for the other platforms supported by the Mozilla foundation.
For now, this feature is not enabled by default, but it will be enabled gradually in the coming weeks.
Below we will see how with a simple tweak you can enable automatic browsing recovery in Firefox for Windows:
In the Firefox address bar, type about:config.
A warning message will appear stating that you will lose your warranty: changing these advanced settings may be harmful to the stability, security, and performance of this application. You should only continue if you are sure of what you are doing….
Press Accept and then in the search box at the top of the screen, type the following string:

toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart

Alternatively, all the steps we described above are available at the following address:

about:config?filter=toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart

which you can copy and paste into the Mozilla Firefox address bar, although you should still see the warning if you have never opened this settings screen.
By default, this setting is set to false. What you need to do to enable the setting is to double-click to change the value from false to true.
After the changes, Firefox should automatically restore your open tabs the next time you restart your computer without closing the browser.
