In case you didn't know, Gmail recently got a redesign from Google's UI developers. Starting today, Google Drive also appears to have a new look that matches Gmail's updated design.
The company made a small announcement on the G Suite blog today, detailing the update.
Here's Google's descriptions of the changes:
The logo in the top left has been replaced with the Google Drive logo.
If you add your own (company) logo, it will now appear in the top right corner.
The Settings icon has been moved in line with the search bar.
The Help Center icon has been moved in line with the search box bar.
The page background is now white, not gray.
The "New" button has been updated.
The font used for headers has changed.
Or just take a look at the GIF the company posted:

Google Drive has been using the company's Material Design aesthetic for quite some time, so the change won't be as dramatic as Gmail's.
The lighter, more “silent” Material Design will soon be seen across all Google apps. The update is still being distributed to the public, so it may not be visible to many of you yet.
Tip: If you use G Suite through your company, to see the changes to the Gmail or Google Drive UI, you will need to contact your platform administrator to allow the changes to appear.
