HomeinetSpectrum platform passes into GitHub's hands

Spectrum platform is in the hands of GitHub

Last week, Bryan Jackson, CEO of Spectrum, a platform with many capabilities, announced that the project is now passing into the hands of GitHub.

Spectrum

Bryn, Brian Lovin and Max Stoiber created the Spectrum community in February 2017. The community is ideal for developers, programmers, technicians and many other types of professions in the field. It now incorporates group chat for businesses as well as individual users.

As Bryn notes in an earlier blog post “After the three co‑founders released an early version of Spectrum, many expressed interest in the service’s features and wanted to become part of our community. So we decided to improve our platform and to «open» it to the public. In less than two years, our platform has attracted more than 50,000 groups, and the number continues to grow!”

But what will change in Spectrum now that it is connected to GitHub communities ?

With the «merger» of Spectrum and GitHub, Spectrum is trying to raise the bar and make developers' work easier, providing tools and integrations between Spectrum and GitHub.

Now Spectrum will provide

  • An online space for each community (team).
  • Free access to all platform features, such as unlimited Moderators, private communities and channels, as well as analytics.
  • Better integration with GitHub.

While few people know about Spectrum, they are reacting positively to its move to collaborate with GitHub. Finally, there are quite a few comparison posts circulating online between services like Slack, Discord, Gitter , and others, and Spectrum seems to be in a satisfactory position among them.
