Windows 10 Update (1809) Task Manager error resolved

Task Manager: The Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) may no longer be available for download, but those "lucky" who managed to install it in the few days of availability are experiencing various errors.

One of the bugs involved Task Manager, which was extremely disappointing, given that the exact same problem had been identified and acknowledged by Microsoft during the Windows Insider program.

The bug in Task Manager causes the application to display incorrect CPU usage in the Processes tab, and Microsoft confirmed the issue during the release of Windows 10 preview build 17763. The same build was eventually promoted to RTM and shipped to production devices without a fix being found.

The latest cumulative update, KB4464455, finally resolves this particular bug, so if we have a re-release of Windows 10 October 2018 Update, it won't bother us.

While Microsoft has fixed this issue, there is still another bug in Task Manager, with no word on when it might be fixed.

Background processes in Task Manager are showing a bug that causes items to blink. Once again, the issue was present in preview builds and was acknowledged by Microsoft itself.
