Now, Mozilla has released a new survey to gauge users' thoughts on Facebook. It asked users whether they would pay for a subscription to Facebookif the company stopped collecting and selling their data. According to reports, Facebook is actively considering launching a paid version of the platform.
It is proven that only 11,43 % of the 47.000 respondents agreed to pay a subscription up to $ 10 / month to continue using the social network. Approximately 1% of respondents stated that they would have no problem paying more. The remaining 62,84% answered categorically no, while 34,68% were not sure.
When asked who should be responsible, 65% of users consider that they themselves are the only ones responsible for safeguarding their online personal information.
Mozilla posed another important question: “Have you made changes to Facebook as a result of the recent revelations about Cambridge Analytica?” Only 23,99% of respondents answered “Yes&rdquo.
This number appears to be quite low when about 76% of people said they are concerned about the security of their personal data online. However, it should be noted that 30% of the individuals who participated in the survey were not Facebook users. Moreover, non-Facebook users who knew how to delete a Facebook page were more numerous compared to the users.
The company has already introduced different features for the protection of personal data and security, with the aim of gaining users' trust.
