Microsoft's HoloLens opened the door to a wide variety of AR , and it was undoubtedly only a matter of time before someone started exploring the adult-oriented side of this new technology.
A company called 3D Hologroup has created an app that aims to create a realistic modern model of a woman and allow users to interact with it using Microsoft's Meta2 HoloLens and Meta Vision.
The app is titled 3D Holo Girlfriend and, as VRfocus writes, is still in beta, although participants in the preview program can try out (three different models) right now.
Although such an app is a step away from AR sex and porn, the parent company says its goal is to offer a unique experience with realistic content that can be customized according to each customer's preferences.
“While the content is for adults, we put together a unique experience that is always evolving with new technology to bring the girl’s experience to the forefront,” she says.
One of the features the software developer is currently focusing on is allowing for custom models “that will allow you to specify the exact details of your friend.” That statement aside, the company wants to offer customization options that will allow you to change every detail of the 3D friends or even work with the development team to create a model from scratch.
Such an app would certainly get a lot of attention, but it will be interesting to see how Microsoft handles this type of content. 3D Hologroup says it expects to release its software in the second half of this year, although there are no specific details at this time. However, the beta program is advanced, and more information will be released later.
