Apple continues to be one of the preferred names that individuals and companies around the world sue for various reasons, and now the Cupertino company is being sent to court over an accident that took place in one of its stores.
Lovey Love Harries has filed a lawsuit against Apple after suffering serious injuries at an Apple store in Florida, explaining in court documents that it was all caused by “dangerous metal wall fixtures” at the store at 1030 W. Forest Hill Boulevard, Wellington, Florida.
The woman says she returned to the store to have her iPhone repaired, but when an Apple employee tried to grab an iPhone case from the wall, a sharp metal shelf was thrown at her left hand.
The lawsuit goes on to point to Apple as the party responsible for the incident, suggesting not only that the company failed to warn customers of the risk, but also that it was negligent for allowing staff to handle the equipment.
“The plaintiff was seriously injured and will continue to suffer pain, has become almost disabled and according to information and belief will be permanently injured, has been forced to spend amounts for her medical care and treatment,” the documents state.
The woman is now seeking compensation from Apple, as the company has yet to issue a statement regarding the case and whether or not it might be interested in a settlement.
