Last November, Facebook announced a new Instant Games service, which was only available to users of the app located in the US. Today, Facebook revealed that Instant Games in Messenger will work globally.
Instant Games on Messenger allows users to play various games while on the go. The main purpose of the service is to provide users with ways to discover, share, and play games without having to install separate apps.
The service is available in Facebook News Feed and Messenger, and you can use it by pressing the game controller icon embedded below a message's typing box.
In addition to announcing the global launch of Instant Games, Facebook also rolled out more features to games, such as game bots, which will help game developers display notifications with information like new levels and rewards.
Developers will also be able to create dynamic and customizable gaming experiences for users, notifying them when new options are added to the game. This will definitely attract more users to Messenger games as players will be shown any new options available.
Facebook also said it plans to add more games every week. There are currently 50 games you can play through Messenger, but their availability depends on the user's device and location.
Facebook announced that Instant Games on Messenger will be rolling out globally in the coming weeks, on both iOS and Android, meaning that more than 1.2 billion people who use the app monthly will have the opportunity to play games without having to install a new app.
