A workshop on by the CYBER SECURITY INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE in collaboration with the Municipality of Farsala internet safetyon Sunday (05/03) at the Cultural Center of Farsala. was successfully held The workshop was addressed to an audience of our Municipality, as well as neighboring municipalities, where parents and children of all ages who wished to be educated on how to deal with the challenges of the digital world and adapt to the new data participated. Responsible for the action and president of the Secondary Education School Committee of the Municipality of Farsala, Ms. Kyriaki Panagiotopoulou, introduced the guest and referred to his career as a cybercrime officer in the Hellenic Police as well as his rich resume . He then thanked him for his honorary presence at the conference. The conference was attended by Lieutenant General and now Internet expert Manos Sfakianakis , as well as Criminologist Maria Voulgaraki.
The topics developed during this conference were:
- The mission and purpose of the Institute
- The purpose of organizing the workshops through the Institute in Greek territory.
- Online Threats and protection measures for minors.
- Crimes and the way they are committed online, as well as prevention practices.
- The phenomena of online violence, the dangers posed by social networking sites and, in general, the prevention and treatment of risks related to new technologies.
- What is going to happen via the internet?.
- The aim was also to promote the activity of the CSI Institute, which initially includes the benefits and specialization with technological means of social groups and professional bodies, the procedures for preventing criminal behavior, as well as the contribution of the Internet to modern societies.
The Lieutenant General then referred to real incidents that have developed in his professional career and gave advice to the public on how to coexist safely on the internet, as he emphasized that it is an important tool as long as each of us handles it correctly.
Also important was the speech by criminologist Ms. Voulgaraki, who spoke about the real risks that arise depending on age and gave her own touch to the conference.
Afterwards, Mr. Sfakianakis gave the floor to the audience and held a dialogue on various questions and issues, such as electronic transactions, social media, and safe use, to which he answered each one individually. The Mayor of Pharsalus addressed the event, who welcomed the guest to our city and then presented him with the album "Getting to Know the City of Homeric Achilles"
The conference was attended by the former leader of the Greek National Assembly, Mr. Christos Vaitsis, the leader of the minor opposition, Ms. Ifou, a large crowd of people, municipal councilors and presidents of organizations and cultural associations in the area.
The second event will be held for students of Middle and High Schools of the city and province of Farsala on Monday 6/3 at 11 a.m. at the city's Indoor Gymnasium, on the topic "Myths and Reality on the Internet".
Mr. M. Sfakianakis will be accompanied by a criminologist - psychologist and the topics that will be discussed are phenomena that concern adolescents and adults, while browsing the internet, such as:
