Even with all the bad things going on in the world, we can always count on the internet to create something stupidly wonderful to distract us from reality and cheer us up. And what better way to make fun of what's going on around us than with GIFs, of course!
“Reaction GIF Generator” by Alex Holachek (via BoingBoing), is not the typical GIF generator you would expect.
With a rather clever and original idea, Holachek decided that it would be a great first to combine Giphy's randomness with Microsoft, which uses machine learning to identify eight different, universal emotions (anger, contempt, disgust, fear, happiness, neutral, sadness, and surprise).
The result of this unique "shuffle" is this hilarious image file generator, which has the ability to analyze your selfies and then find a GIF that matches your facial expression! Needless to say, this is a very interesting and fun process to try, although some may find it a little annoying!
If you don't like the result the generator came up with, you have options! You can take a selfie again and let the magic algorithm re-analyze your face. Or you can simply select another GIF using the "previous" and "next" options.
The only thing missing from Holachek's generator is a way to share these GIFs on social media. We hope its creator makes that a reality.
