Instagram just announced that it will be making live videos in its Instagram Stories section available to everyone around the world next week, if it's not already available to you. The feature first launched in November of last year for a select number of markets.
Instagram Live Stories are a new way to connect with friends and followers now, according to Instagram. The Facebook-owned company says you'll be able to watch makeup tutorials, live DJs, and lots of interesting videos from the people you follow in real time.
The feature is pretty easy to use, you just have to swipe right on your feed and select Start Live Video in the camera options. When you're done broadcasting the video, the live story will disappear from the app.
Instagram has introduced a Top Live feature in the Explore, allowing users to see which live stories are currently streaming and see which ones have the most viewers. The new feature may be available on different platforms in stages, which means it won't reach everyone at the same time, so you'll have to be patient.
The latest feature is only available on Instagram versions 10.0 and earlier, so you'll need to update your app to the latest version when it becomes available. With 150 million daily users, the new Instagram Live Stories feature is sure to become very popular.
Instagram for iOS recently got an update with color and live photo support. Instagram for iPhone users can now post animated GIFs to Instagram Stories and even convert them to Boomerang, Instagram’s mini-video app. Users can also see and capture a wider variety of hues in their photos and upload their own GIFs to the network. Instagram for Android and iOS recently got an update with the ability to save posts for later viewing.
