Many users report that after installing the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, they have problems with the camera they use. Due to the changes made by Microsoft, devices that use MJPEG or H264 codecs for streaming have stopped working.
Below is a quick solution.
In the new Windows 10 Anniversary Update operating system, the company uses new methods for apps that have access to cameras, and MJPEG and H264 encoding could cause very poor performance on systems.
To unblock the aforementioned codecs and make your webcam work again on Windows 10, you need to apply a simple tweak in the registry:
Open the Registry Editor (Press the Win+R keys together, type regedit and press enter)
Follow the path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\WOW6432Node\\Microsoft\\Windows Media Foundation\\Platform
Create a 32-bit DWORD value called EnableFrameServerMode. Even if your system is 64-bit, you should create a 32-bit DWORD value.
Its data value should be 0.
Reboot your system.
That was it. After this, your camera will work on Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
