Microsoft announced today (mistakenly) that the long-awaited Anniversary Update for Windows 10 will be available on August 2nd.
The Anniversary Update will bring a lot of new features and improvements to Windows 10.
Among many others, we can mention Linux Bash support, extensions for Microsoft Edge, Windows Ink for better ink support, updates and improvements to the Cortana digital assistant, and much more.
In addition to the above, the new updated version will bring changes that improve usability and daily activities when using the operating system.
Until today, Microsoft had stated that it would release the Anniversary Update in the summer of 2016.
The company had not provided any further information until today, but most of those who follow the company's behavior believed that it would be released a year after the official release of Windows 10.
So today, a press release accidentally published by Microsoft revealed that the company will release the Anniversary Update of Windows 10 on August 2.

The announcement was available for a very short time, and only as a headline on the Microsoft News Center website, but it seems that the company changed its mind and took it down very quickly.
It should be noted that July 29th is also the date that the free upgrade offer to Windows 10 expires. Microsoft has already announced that it will not extend the offer (although we don't believe it) and that users only have until July 29th, 2016, to get Windows 10 for free, as an upgrade from Windows 7 and 8.1.
