Google Spaces: With Google+ slowly dying, Google has already started looking for other ways to connect its users. Its latest effort is reportedly a new standalone app for group discussions on specific topics called Spaces.
It's pretty simple: create a "Space" dedicated to a particular interest of yours, and then invite your friends to discuss it. It doesn't sound that special, but it gets really interesting when we tell you that YouTube, Google Chrome, and Google Search are all connected to the app.
This means you don't have to constantly switch between apps to find and view shared content.
Additionally, in Google Spaces, in addition to being a chat app, there is also a conversation viewer feature that will keep you updated on what your friends are talking about. Again, this feature will help you not to leave your apps to see what your friends are saying.
Google envisions the app being used for book clubs, study groups, TV show discussions, or planning weekend trips. It's somewhat reminiscent of Pinterest, but with a strong focus on small talk and group activities.
Currently, the official website says that Spaces will be “launching soon,” but we probably won’t have to wait long.
Google says the app will be rolling out today for Android, iOS, desktops, and “all Gmail accounts.”
