Symantec Corp. announced that Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) has won the AV - TEST Institute’s “ Best Protection 2015 Award ” for enterprise users . Symantec Endpoint Protection was recognized for its consistently high performance across all security tests for 2015.
“Symantec Endpoint Protection Enterprise won the “Best Protection 2015” award, achieving impressive levels of protection in all tests,” said Maik Morgenstern, CTO of the AV-TEST institute.
AV-TEST, an internationally recognized institute for its impartial, rigorous testing practices, evaluates the effectiveness of security solutions against advanced threats over the course of a year. Security solutions are subjected to over a thousand live zero-day attacks, which are attempted via infected websites and e-mails,in order to evaluate the protection capabilities offered by each product. In addition, AV-TEST measures the detectability of security solutions against over 150,000 modern, widespread threats.
Symantec Endpoint Protection outperformed all competing security solutions throughout the 2015 testing cycle.
In each of the six AV-Test certification tests, Endpoint Protection performed consistently well, achieving nearly 100% pass rates . For this performance, the product won the AV-TEST “Best Protection 2015 Award”. In addition, Norton Security antivirus was recognized by AV - TEST as the best application in the Consumer product category . This is the first time that a vendor has been recognized in both the Business and Consumer product categories . Symantec representatives accepted the awards at the annual AV-TEST Institute awards ceremony in Wolfsburg, Germany.
