It seems that in the battle for market dominance between the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5, the Xiaomi MI5 will win the title of best-selling smartphone for the first half of the year.
Even if Samsung hopes that its new Galaxy S7 will sell better than the Galaxy S6, sales of the Xiaomi MI5 seem to be exceeding all expectations.
The Chinese company just confirmed that over 16 million people registered yesterday to be the first to get the MI5, which is scheduled to be released on March 1st.
By tomorrow, registrations may have reached 20 million for the first sale of the MI5 device.
According to Xiaomi, from March 1st (tomorrow) the device will be available in China, in the white version in 3GB/32GB and 64GB.
The cheapest MI5 model will cost just $305 and will be equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
A slightly upgraded variant of the cheaper version will be available on the market for $350. It will include a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 CPU, 3GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.
Another improved version of the Xiaomi MI5 is expected to be available in China for $415. It will be the most expensive of the three variants and will feature a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage.
