The Windows 10 Mobile development process seems to be progressing very smoothly, as Microsoft has decided to release its latest build to members of the Slow Ring of the Windows Insider program.
To see a build in the Slow Ring, the Windows development team has managed to fix the majority of bugs and address most of the critical issues that Fast Ring users pointed out. So since it released Windows 10 Mobile build 10,586.71, Redmond should be happy with its performance.
Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.71 comes with many fixes, and includes improvements to Windows Update performance and reliability, as Microsoft tries to prepare for a smooth transition from Windows Phone to the new operating system.
According to Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, this is a top priority for the company.
At present, the company has not announced exactly which devices will be able to receive the new Windows 10 Mobile upgrade.
According to Microsoft and speaking very generally, all phones should be compatible with the new operating system, regardless of what hardware specifications they use.
It remains to be seen what will happen when people start updating their devices with the new preview build.
