Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware is a new product from the security company Malwarebytes and aims to protect Windows systems from ransomware attacks. The new application was released in a beta version and is available for download.
The security company Malwarebytes continues to expand its portfolio. After the release of Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit a short while ago, it released the first beta version of the anti-Ransomware.
It should be noted that the new application is available as a beta, which means it will not work like the final version. Bugs are expected in beta releases.
The program is over 50 Megabytes in size, quite large especially when compared to other products of the company.
The application runs in the background and its activity is monitoring the system to identify actions typically associated with ransomware.
According to Malwarebytes, the new Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware application does not rely on signatures to detect and block dangerous ransomware variants.
“[..] This factor is extremely exciting, as it introduces the most innovative approach in today's market for protection against ransomware. A completely dynamic technology that does not require signatures to be able to detect and block even the most dangerous ransomware variant such as CryptoWall4, CryptoLocker, Tesla, and CTB-Locker.”
The software will also prevent the encryption of your system's data by ransomware, quarantine processes.
