The free app Popcorn Time was a huge hit when it was first released. Depending on how you judged it, the app showed us what the future of the internet and movies would be like, or it was just another tool for illegally streaming movies online.
The application combined a movie browsing program, a movie playback application, and a torrent client into a beautiful interface, something the media industry has failed to provide to the world for many years, even if we remove the torrents from the above equation.
The original version of Popcorn Time was shut down fairly quickly, but various other similar programs quickly filled the void using the original idea and making use of Popcorn.
Popcorn Browser is built on the same technology as Popcorn Time, but it's online. It only requires a modern browser to start streaming movies to your location.
According to its developers, unlike applications based on Popcorn Time, it does not use the user's system to distribute media files via torrent. Instead, it downloads the torrent and then streams it to the user, in a continuous flow and in the background.
The web service it offers displays the movie categories on the left, and a selection of movies on the right. Each movie has a thumbnail, its name, and the release date. When you click on one of them, a side bar will open showing options to watch the movie and read a brief synopsis of the plot.
There is also a search you can use to find movies that are interesting. So far you cannot watch the movies in different qualities, you have no options to watch the movies in various languages. However, you can add subtitles and from what we have found, Greek ones are also included.
You may be wondering how long this site will last. It would be strange if we see it still existing until Christmas.
