Sony Mobile has introduced its new Sony Xperia Z5 series, which includes three new smartphones for now: the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the world's first smartphone to feature a 4K display.
According to Sony, the Xperia Z5 Premium's 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive display supports a resolution of 2160×3840 pixels and includes TRILUMINOS Display technology.
This display can upscale 4K content, videos, and photos. The smartphone can also record 4K videos, which you can enjoy directly on the device's 5.5-inch display in their native resolution.
The Xperia Z5 Premium is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, complemented by an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.
The smartphone comes with 32GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 200GB via the microSD card slot.
The rear camera is 23-megapixel and features a Sony Exmor sensor that can capture 4K video. It also has an LED flash and autofocus. On the front, there is a 5.1-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
It is also worth noting that the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is IP68 certified (dust and water resistant) and its non-removable battery is 3,430 mAh and features Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
We're curious to see how the battery will cope with the device's 4K display, as it seems to us that such displays are very demanding. However, the company claims that the battery life reaches 2 days.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium will be available in the market from early November 2015 and will cost around €800. The smartphone will be available globally, but the Dual-SIM version will only be released in certain countries.
