10GB of data from 37 million Ashley Madison users leaked

Data from 37 million users of the infamous dating website Ashley Madison has been leaked. According to a report by Ars Technica, the personal data is now available online, and was released in a BitTorrent archive.Ashley Madison

According to the publication, the data has a volume of 10GB and is all personal (emails, user profiles, credit card transaction data and much more).

The hackers who carried out the attack, a group called The Impact, released the data of Avid Life Media, which owns Ashley Madison.

The hacker group warns that some of the data is falsified, especially the data for women:

Found someone you know? Please note that the site is a scam with thousands of fake female profiles. 90-95% of the real users are men.

One of the most devastating aspects of the hack is the revelation that the personal information of users who had paid $19 to have all of their user data on the website deleted is still there.

The feature brought in $1.7 million to Avid Life Media, but the team believes it never worked as advertised by the company.

Among the leaked data are the website's credit card details, which have been confirmed as real, according to PasswordsCon founder Per Thorshim:
