Samsung's new UHD displays

Samsung expands its portfolio of UHD displays, aiming for an even better coverage of the needs of both consumers seeking entertainment and professionals who emphasize detail. The new series of UHD displays, UE590, offers high image contrast and fast response time, creating a more vivid viewing experience that does not distract the viewer and simultaneously improves performance.

The Samsung UE590 series, available in 23.5 and 28 inches, is suitable for those seeking high-level entertainment, as well as for avid gamers who desire a unique viewing experience. These particular displays, combined with a level of ergonomics and environmental friendliness, provide a comprehensive viewing experience.

With more than 8 million pixels and four times the clarity of full high-definition (FHD) displays, the UE590 series screens deliver the most vivid images. These are the unique UHD screens that support AMD FreeSync technology, which synchronizes the screen's refresh rate with the AMD graphics card's frame rate for the user, creating powerful gaming experiences. The response time of just one millisecond on the 28‑inch model also allows gamers to see even the fastest action scenes with absolute clarity, without blur and ‘ghosting’. Meanwhile, the 60 Hz refresh rate limits image stutter and creates an improved and smoother viewing experience.

Offering enhanced connectivity, UHD screens add greater comfort and flexibility to the user experience. UHD screens feature integrated DisplayPort (DP 2.1) ports and two HDMI ports, HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 1.4a (4K at 30Hz). HDMI 2.0 and DP 2.1 support 4K resolution at 60Hz, which is twice the maximum resolution that HDMI 1.4a can provide (4K at 30Hz).

With the goal of increasing productivity, the UE590 monitors allow users to adjust the content they view according to their personal needs. The Picture-by-Picture (PBP) feature ensures that content can be displayed from two different sources while maintaining image quality. Similarly, a portion up to 25% of the screen can be repositioned and resized at any point on the screen using the Picture-in-Picture 2.0 (PiP) feature.

The ergonomic advantages of the UE590 series provide a more comfortable and pleasant experience for users. The UHD monitors support wall mounts (VESA standard). Additionally, using the eye-saver function, the monitors reduce the harmful effects of blue light associated with eye strain for the viewer. Likewise, the monitors feature a flicker-free function that protects viewers' eyes.

Samsung, aiming to help businesses save on the energy they consume, the resources they use, and ultimately the overall cost, the displays use new low-energy consumption technologies. The Eco-Saving Plus feature helps reduce brightness to enhance energy efficiency. The new displays will be released in the Greek market through Samsung Electronics Hellas' official partner network at the end of June 2015.
