Watch a robot operate on a wounded grape

A new video posted on the internet two days ago shows a robot performing a surgical operation on a wounded grape bunch and stitching the incision.

Surgery Robot Operates on a Wounded Grape

This particular robot is a surgical machine called the Da Vinci. The grape, on the other hand, is a regular red grape used to make wine. Nothing special about it.

These scenes show the Da Vinci surgical machine using robotic arms to place a piece of its skin in the correct position. Then it sews the skin onto the stump, as it would with a normal surgical incision in a human. When the process is completed, the grape looks as if it were new.

Even more unbelievable is that the surgical machine performs this operation inside a glass bottle. Impressive, right?

Of course, don't think that all these precise movements were performed by the robot on its own. On the contrary, a trained doctor constantly controls the mechanical arms.

Surgical robots like the one shown in this video are used by specialized doctors to perform minimally invasive surgical procedures and to reach, with the smallest possible incision, tumors that develop in odd locations.

During the operation via the robot, surgeons see what happens inside their patients through a camera so they can correctly direct the metallic arms and the tools they carry.
