To Thessaloniki Science Festival, the first festival in Thessaloniki aimed at communicating science to the general public, is honored and delighted to host Solve for X, a project that aims to tackle global problems through science and technology.
Between experiments, workshops, interactive exhibitions and competitions, as well as interesting talks, discussions, performances and film screenings that will make up, among other things, the festival program, for the first time, after its debut at the previous DET, the Google Developers in Thessaloniki are opening the project's doors to the public.
Google X, Google’s most innovative and radical lab, has chosen Thessaloniki and just 11 other cities worldwide to host Solve for X.Leading scientists, global problems and radical ideas come together to create #moonshot0.1. All eyes are on Thessaloniki for another reason. The “Solve for X Design Sprint” will make its pan-European “premiere” during Solve for X #moonshot0.1, which has so far only been presented in New York. The analytical program will be announced in due course.
The Thessaloniki Science Festival is organized by the British Council and the Educational Organization "Science Communication - SciCo" in co-organization with the Municipality of Thessaloniki, HELEXPO-TIF, the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and the WE Sports and Culture Center under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs, the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Also participating are the Union of Greek Physicists, University Institutions, Educational Organizations, Research and Technological Institutes as well as the largest Public and Private entities of Thessaloniki.
The sections covered by the Festival include: Physics / Chemistry / Biology – Biosciences / Geology / Mathematics / Environmental Sciences / Sustainable Development / Health Sciences / Nutrition / Astronomy and Space / Innovation and Entrepreneurship / Materials Science / Robotics / Digital Technology and Informatics / History and Philosophy of Science / Science and Art.
