SpaceX has finally released its official photos, on a new Flickr account under a Creative Commons license.
This means anyone can download and view the photos, but they cannot be used for commercial purposes. SpaceX also states on its Flickr page that media outlets can publish its photos freely.
If you try browsing the photos you will discover very impressive footage from space, the Cape Canaveral rocket launch site, a satellite in a falling orbit and a water landing off the coast of Southern California.
NASA has long allowed its photos to be displayed to the public, and it seems that SpaceX has decided to do the same. Besides, this particular move is a very good advertising campaign that allows the company to showcase its services.
The European Space (ESA) has been allowing the viewing of photos from its missions around the world since the beginning, and recently demonstrated this with its intense activity on social media during the recent Rosetta mission.
