Nano Magnetics: Smartphones have slowly started to evolve into phablets, i.e. devices with larger screens. If you are a fan of the new trend then take a look at the Nanoport magnetic connector.
The Nanoport magnetic connector allows you to connect the smartphones you have at home or at work, etc. The goal is to create a device with a larger screen, which could reach the level of a tablet.
According to Slashgear, the owners of Nano Magnetics have a patent for a magnetic connector technology called Nanoport. The technology will be demonstrated and seen in action at CES 2015 in January 2015 (or next month, if you prefer).
In fact, the company Nano Magnetics showed off a prototype model back at CES 2014, but at CES 2015 it will be showing off the actual device.
So get ready to see a series of smartphones lined up side by side in Las Vegas in a few weeks. The magnets will not only hold your smartphones in place, but also allow you to transfer data between them. The system will prove quite useful for people who own multiple smartphones or have older models lying around the house unused.
Another scenario is to get together with your friends, combining your devices to create one big screen.
The manufacturer has mentioned some bold features and will now have to prove them. Specifically, it says that its technology is capable of transferring data securely and quickly without having to resort to cables or any other additional hardware/software for that matter.
