The Independent, the Telegraph and CNBC hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army

The Independent, the Telegraph, and CNBC's website were hacked by the notorious Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) group. Twitter users also reported other sites, including PC World, Forbes, OK Magazine, NHL, Elsevier, and Dell's official UK website.independent Syrian Electronic Army

A popup window states “You've been hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA).” Our hacktivist group is already known for various attacks on Facebook, high-profile Twitter profiles, and many others.

According to TNW, the Independent confirmed the attack, but said its visitors were not at risk.

Shortly after verifying the entry point, he stated that all of the affected domains were using the Gigya platform for comments. While Gigya itself was not compromised, the SEA team reportedly gained access to its DNS.

The Telegraph confirmed the breach, also blaming an unnamed third-party service:
