Less than a week after the release of iOS 8, Apple has released the first update (iOS 8.0.1) for the platform. However, for some, it brings more problems than it solves.
Hundreds of messages on Twitter report that after the update, their devices are no longer receiving a signal, getting stuck while searching for it, or getting the message “No signal.”

Others are having issues with the Touch ID fingerprint reader after applying the 8.0.1 update.
We tested it on an iPhone 5S and there's no problem. ZDNet reports that the issue has occurred on a T-Mobile iPhone 6 in New York, and an iPhone 6 Plus running on the 3 network in the UK.
Several iPads that have been tested, however, appear to be unaffected after installing the update. There is also unconfirmed information that the issue is limited to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
At this time, upgrading to iOS 8.0.1 is not recommended, no matter which device you are using.
Apple does not mention in the update changelog that the new version will bring longer battery life to your device, so there is probably no reason to rush.
