MisTable "Curtain" made of sprinkles creates new touch and interaction interface
Inspired by the science fiction film “Minority Report”, it seems that British researchers from the University of Bristolones who have developed a touchscreen made of… water spray, creating an invisible “curtain” of droplets.
The user can touch and explore the projected content, just as they would in the case of a regular touchscreen. Furthermore, with their index finger, they can, with a single movement, “transfer” the flying image in front of them to a flat touchscreen (tabletop type), which can be hosted, for example, on the surface of a table or desk.
Data in the air
The MisTable (from the English word mist, meaning fog), according to scientists, could be used in places where there is a need for huge touch screens.
" This particular touch screen expands the capabilities of a conventional table in innovative and inventive ways ," says Professor Sriram Subramanian , one of its inventors. " With MisTable technology, users will be able to know the actions of others in the same space, while they can easily switch to their personal screen on the surface of a smart table, " adds the expert.
