Microsoft's new CEO Satya Nadella spoke during the event in San Francisco about the company's latest improvements in the cloud industry, and announced Office for iPad, a new version of the company's productivity suite.
Even though the Office unveilings for the iPad were the most important moment of the event, Satya Nadella made some statements about the future of Windows, explaining that exciting news is coming next week at the BUILD 2014 developers conference which will be held again in San Francisco.
“Next week I will be here again, together with many others from our company and we will talk about innovations in Windows, and one of the questions I would like to raise is what is happening with Windows? What are the Windows getting stuck with all this?”, said Satya Nadella.
“Windows is a huge program for us. We will innovate and you will see us discussing next week the major innovations of the operating system and the major innovations in devices.”
Of course, Nadella was talking about the Windows Update of 8.1, the next significant improvement of Windows 8.1 that is expected to be presented during the conference next week.
Microsoft has not been mentioned much about the Update of Windows 8.1, apart from the fact that it is a significant package of improvements scheduled to be released in the spring. However, we know almost everything about Windows Update 8.1, thanks to various leaks that have surfaced on the internet recently.
Windows Update 8.1 will try to make its Metro UI a bit more suitable for traditional PCs, adding some new features to the start screen, such as a search box and new power options.
