Microsoft's Office application has become a very important product for the company, so besides the upgrades with updated releases for Office 365 and the launch of Office Online, the company is said to be trying to prepare the next full version of the productivity suite for Windows customers.
Office 16, which is said to be the name of the next version of Office on Windows, could arrive to us by the end of the year, reports Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet citing people who know the subject very well and a series of Microsoft tips that were given in recent days.
«We will continue the releases and installations for SharePoint Server and Exchange Server at the traditional release cadence of every 2-3 years” said Office Corporate Vice President Jeffrey Teper, noting that the new version of Office could arrive as early as in 2-3 years.
Of course, Microsoft declined to comment on this publication, but if the rumors are true, we could expect a public beta to be released within the coming months.
