Mission for Growth 2014: International event to promote business partnerships in Greece

The event is organized by Enterprise Europe Network-Hellas and focuses on tourism and blue growth.

An international event of bilateral business meetings is being organized in Athens on 11 March 2014 by the Enterprise Europe Network – Hellas, the country’s largest network for entrepreneurship and innovation coordinated by the National Documentation Centre (EKT). The event, which is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and research organisations and focuses on tourism and blue growth, is part of the “Mission for Growth – Reaching the Greek market and its players” event (11-12/03/2014) which is being organized by the Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr. Antonio Tajani, in collaboration with the Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ms. Maria Damanaki, and the Greek Ministry of Tourism, in the context of the Greek Presidency of the EU.

The event of bilateral meetings aims at business partnership between Greek and European businesses and is addressed to small and medium-sized enterprises and research organizations that are active in sectors identified as critical factors for development in Greece and are interested in developing or expanding their activities in the European area. In particular, the event focuses on the following sectors: Agri-food sector / Food processing / Aquaculture, Biotechnology and Blue Biotechnology, Energy, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Tourism.

Participants will have the opportunity to make contacts with potential partners from abroad, reach new customers/suppliers, identify innovative technologies and products with the aim of exploiting them and create new Research & Technological Development partnerships within the framework of the open calls of the European Horizon 2020 program.

In the bilateral business meetings that will take place during the event (Athens, Divani Caravel Hotel), businesses and organizations from all over Greece and Europe will have the opportunity to participate in targeted and scheduled short-duration meetings (20 minutes) to examine possibilities and prospects for cooperation. The event is a follow-up to the successful 2013 event (474 ​​participants and 1,248 meetings).

Those interested in participating in the business meetings are invited to submit their profile, by March 5, on the event website https://www.b2match.eu/m4g-greece2014 (citing the National Documentation Center as the Support Office). From February 25 to March 5, the selection and scheduling of bilateral business meetings by registered companies will take place via the platform. Participation in the event is free of charge. The bilateral business meetings event is being held in parallel with the International Conference “Coastal and Maritime Tourism & Blue Growth Strategies” which will take place on 10 March (Athens, Acropolis Museum), under the auspices of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission. The conference, which focuses on coastal and maritime tourism and blue growth strategies, will be attended by the Vice-President of the European Commission, Mr. Antonio Tajani, and the Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Ms. Maria Damanaki. The conference will be attended by leading representatives of the business community from across Europe.
