Microsoft has made the Xbox Music and Xbox Video apps available through the Windows Phone Store for users of devices with the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
Starting with Xbox Video, we should say that it is an online store for movies and TV shows, which now has an exclusive application for the Windows Phone 8. In this way, the service will "penetrate" all available Microsoft platforms, since in addition to being available via browser, it will be available via applications for Windows 8/RT, via Xbox 360 and via Xbox One.
With the Windows Phone 8 app , users will be able to purchase or rent titles, stream or download content. Additionally, users will be able to download a program via their mobile device but will be able to watch it on the platform of their choice (Windows 8, Xbox 360 or Xbox One).
The Xbox Music for Windows Phone 8 will allow users to edit their playlists, download for offline playback, listen to radio stations and of course sync their music titles. In the case of Xbox Music, the full version of the app will be available in 2014.
As can be easily seen with the operation of Xbox Video and Xbox Music, Microsoft is taking the idea of combining all its operating systems into a single platform one step further. Additionally, by following in the footsteps of Google and Android, Microsoft will now be able to promote updates to its applications and services faster and on a larger scale.
